Rwamatamu fue fundada en 2015 por el matrimonio formado por Gaston Rutaganda y Laeticia Mukantwaza en el oeste de Ruanda. Además de la producción de café, el proyecto invierte fuertemente en iniciativas comunitarias, apoyando a mujeres y jóvenes agricultores mediante formación, acceso a la tierra y desarrollo a largo plazo.

Este lote natural de Red Bourbon se procesó en la estación de lavado Mbare de Rwamatamu, donde las cerezas se seleccionan a mano y se secan lentamente en camas elevadas durante varias semanas. El volteo y la selección cuidadosos durante el secado ayudan a desarrollar dulzor y complejidad frutal, preservando al mismo tiempo la estructura y claridad propias de los cafés ruandeses de gran altitud.
